Tracy Smith

EC4H Lead Tutor

Tracy is a Clinical Educator with a nursing background. She works with Marie Curie staff across Scotland in the hospice and community setting. Through her experience of working in palliative care in both clinical and educational roles, she knows the importance of effective communication at the end of life and also of the challenges faced by clinical staff. She has facilitated communications skills training for many years but became a EC4H tutor in 2016

Dr Kate Henriksen

EC4H Senior Tutor

Dr Kate Henriksen is a consultant in Palliative Medicine in West Lothian and at the Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh. Kate has a certificate in medical education and has been a member of the EC4H communication tutors’ group since 2000.

Lyndsay Cassiday

EC4H Senior Tutor

Lyndsay is a Programme Manager and Practice Development Facilitator for Marie Curie. Lyndsay has worked in a variety of palliative care settings in both clinical and educational roles both here in the United Kingdom and in Australia. She is currently undertaking her PhD in palliative care education at Lancaster University. Lyndsay believes passionately in the value of communication training. Lyndsay became an EC4H tutor in 2016.

Ruth Mitchell

EC4H Senior Tutor

Ruth Mitchell has been an occupational therapist at the Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow for 15years. She has an interest in teaching and works regularly with students from both Glasgow Caledonian University and Queen Elizabeth University, Edinburgh. She completed EC4H communication tutor training in 2017

Lauren Eadie

EC4H Tutor

Lauren qualified as an Adult Nurse in 2012. She has spent most of her career within Intensive Care, including a redeployment to ICU during the Covid 19 pandemic and a one-year career break in Hobart, Tasmania. Communication has been paramount in her day-to-day role, where she often had to adapt her skills to suit her patients’ needs. In 2023 she commenced her current role as a Clinical Educator for Marie Curie and became an EC4H Tutor.
