An online interactive webinar for maternity staff who are involved in Adverse Event Reviews. Participants will watch a real time interactive demonstration led by EC4H tutors focusing on having difficult and sensitive conversations when feeding back the outcome of a review to patients and families involved in an adverse event

• Importance of language/suggestions about helpful approaches
• Significant adverse event process
• Being Open about adverse events
• Feedback meeting to share the review outcome with the patients/families involved in an adverse event

Dr Edile Murdoch is a Consultant Neonatologist and Clinical Director for Maternity Services in NHS Lothian. Edile joined the EC4H senior tutor team in 2016 and now supports delivery of Being Open and EC4H workshops in Lothian and EC4H’s partner boards
Dr Vivian Franklin has been a consultant in obstetrics in Ayrshire since 2011. She is the lead for Maternity Clinical Risk Management and has worked with the EC4H team to implement the Being Open process in maternity services in Ayrshire since 2018. Through this she undertook EC4H tutor training with a focus on the Being Open process. GMC no - 4706207
Dr Fiona Dennison is a Consultant Obstetrician with a special interest in maternal and fetal medicine at Ayrshire Maternity unit, Crosshouse Hospital. She also has an interest in teaching, receiving a Certificate of Postgraduate Medical Education in 2014 and completed EC4H communication tutor training in 2019. GMC: 6099824
