Free online taster session which allows participants to watch a real time interactive demonstration led by EC4H tutors. Participants will have the opportunity throughout the demonstration to contribute suggestions and feedback to the tutor team via the chat box.

During the webinar will explore effective ways to help people think and plan ahead. Clinicians need to be able to talk about emergency treatment and care planning (e.g. Treatment Escalation Plans and ReSPECT), goals of care, and planning for care around dying, including DNACPR discussions.
The RED-MAP framework supports these conversations.

This webinar is open to staff from all health boards and organisations.

Overview

This session will focus on initiating future care planning conversations with a patient/family member when the patient has a life limiting illness, but their condition is stable. Emphasis will be on setting realistic goals for patients at the time of rehabilitation and supporting patients to do more self-management

Kim Steel is a Palliative Care Consultant in NHS Fife and an Associate Director of Medical Education. Kim graduated from the University of Dundee and trained in Palliative Care in the Northwest of England. Kim has been a tutor for EC4H since 2018 tutoring both in Fife and helping in other boards.
