An interactive workshop to support Anaesthetists to manage adverse events. Participants will work in a small peer group using role play and interactive sessions to address communication challenges when supporting families and staff when an adverse event happens and through the subsequent review process

Dr Belinda Hacking has worked with Dr. Boyd since 2003, teaching clinical communication to senior doctors and other professionals across Scotland. Belinda was also trained by the late Professor Maguire. Her clinical role is head of psychology service for learning disability, health, forensic, neuropsychology and older adults in NHS Lothian. Belinda has a special interest in shared decision-making in healthcare. British Psychological Society membership: 33194
Dr Edile Murdoch is a Consultant Neonatologist and Clinical Director for Maternity Services in NHS Lothian. Edile joined the EC4H senior tutor team in 2016 and now supports delivery of Being Open and EC4H workshops in Lothian and EC4H’s partner boards
